Bale one win away from British record

Bale, who currently boasts three Champions League winners medals in his cabinet at home, is just one win away from equalling Phil Neal's record of four European Cups. 

The Madrid No. 11 netted the goal that sparked his side's thumping victory over city rivals in the 2014 final and featured in 'Los Blancos' back-to-back triumphs in 2016 and 2017. If they lift the trophy in Kiev, it'll be an impressive three years on the trot. 

The player with the most European Cups in the world is Francisco Gento, also of Real Madrid. Gento recorded six wins in 1950s and 1960s. 

Speaking about the upcoming season-defining game, Bale himself said: "I feel great, I am ready for the final. Last year we got our second Champions League in a row and now we want more.

"I think I am on fine form physically. I never imagined playing in so many finals. I have played in three and this could be a fourth win, it has blown any expectations I had out of the water."

Having plied his trade in the Spanish capital for just five years, the man from Cardiff is on track for his fourth Champions League victory. All that stands in his way are Jurgen Klopps determined Reds.
