Despite his fine form at training, Perez was unable to score in Newcastle's preseason victory over St Patrick's Athletic earlier in the week.
Perez has has a variable season, with goal droughts at times, but his form at the end of the season should help his confidence for Premier League kickoff.
Newcastle's next warm-up game is away to Hull next week, with a match against Porto the following week.
