Avoiding a 'Kevin-Prince 2.0'

The eyes are on the market of FC Barcelona, although calm reigns in the Camp Nou offices. There are many days left in the winter market still, but the Catalans are looking for stability, not more additions.

It has been assumed for some time that Barça's plan is not to sign any players this transfer market, although there are players who could leave in the next few days, such as Arturo Vidal and Jean-Clair Todibo. For the time being, the Chilean is still on board, while the French defender is due to join Milan.

Although there could still be some exits, no newcomers are expected.  According to 'Marca', Barcelona has not changed its intention of not bringing players to the winter market. The last experiences do not bring good memories...

Especially Kevin-Prince Boateng. The unruly attacker arrived to reinforce a lack of quality substitutions for Luis Suarez but his presence was barely felt. He played just 303 minutes in four games. His stay at the Camp Nou is more linked to the expense of his unsuccessful loan than to his own performance.

Barcelona does not want to repeat more cases of this type, although the results were not much better in the winter of 2017-2018. Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina, the star reinforcements then, have both departed Barcelona since.
