Atletico's Barrios leaves Spain U21 training camp with muscle injury

Pablo Barrios leaves the Spain U21 training camp in Hungary. The RFEF confirmed on Saturday that the Atletico Madrid midfielder has returned to his club to attend to his physical problems.

The player did not take part in the victory of Santi Denia's team against Scotland as a precaution. Finally, the medical services of ‘La Rojita’ have deemed it appropriate to leave the team in order not to aggravate his setbacks ahead of the return to competition after the international break.

Damian Rodriguez will replace Pablo Barrios in Hungary. Spain U21s will close this international break next Tuesday at 17:45 against the Magyars. The match will be played as part of the qualifiers for the U21 European Championship 2025, which will be held in Slovakia.

For their part, Atletico Madrid will be hoping not to suffer any major setbacks. It is the great hope of the ‘Colchonera’ youth team and Diego Pablo Simeone has found his place in a project that aims for everything this season.
