Aston Villa give up on Joao Felix but Benfica return to the fight

Benfica are keen to bring back Joao Felix, the star player who left for Atletico for 120 million in the summer of 2019. Four years after that 'As Aguias' asked the Rojiblancos about the situation of the attacker.

Diego Pablo Simeone does not count on him, indeed they have been seen as very distant in the return to training of the Portuguese, and the player does not want to continue either. The most logical thing is that a way out is found for him, but for the moment, nothing has moved.

In the list of Joao Felix's suitors was Aston Villa, but the English team would have dropped out of the race for him.  They consider the amount demanded by Atletico to let him go too high and are already looking for alternatives. Thus, he would only have one other option left, Benfica.

'Record' assures that Aston Villa will not bid for Joao Felix while Benfica would have resumed negotiations with the Rojiblancos to try to unravel the situation. The president of 'As Aguias', Rui Costa, is insisting on getting him back home.

Rui Costa can boast of having brought Di Maria and Goncalo Guedes back to the Estadio da Luz but wants to up the stakes by also signing the return of 'Menino' Joao Felix.
