Torreira is currently out in Russia for the World Cup, impressing with Uruguay as the South American side progressed to the quarter-finals on Saturday. When he's not on international duty he plays for Serie A side Sampdoria, but it appears that he won't be carrying on in Italy next season.
The midfielder has been widely linked with Arsenal of late, and reports from the 'Daily Mail' on Sunday state that the English side will finalise a €30m deal for him once Uruguay's World Cup campaign comes to an end, which will be within the next week or two.
Sampdoria's president, Massimo Ferrero, admitted last week that Torreira was on his way out of the club, speaking to 'Sportitalia'.
"Torreira's gone for €30m," he said. "I bought him from Pescara when nobody believed in him. We gambled on him and we won, paying just €3m. The money we're earning is necessary to increase our club's capital."
"If we get a big offer for somebody, I will accept it, but we don't need to sell our players off at bargain prices."
