Arsenal have closed a deal with Nottingham Forest for Portuguese defender Nuno Tavares. The 23-year-old joins the midlands side on loan this season, with the option to buy included in the deal.
According to journalist and transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, the two Premier League clubs have agreed a loan fee of just over £1 million, with the purchase option clocking in at £12 million.
The Italian also reported that the defender completed his Trentside medical on Tuesday, and will join Amir Murillo in the back line, who has reportedly also been signed from Belgian side Anderlecht.
Following his loan last season at Ligue 1 side Marseille, the defender's new home this season will see him reunite with a familiar face, as the Gunners also sold keeper Matt Turner to Forest earlier this summer for just over £7 million.
