Arsenal reluctant to pay new boss Wenger's salary

It seems money is tight at the Emirates. It is widely understood that Arsenal need to have a total revamp if they are to return to the top end of English football, however it has already been reported previously that they may have as little as £50m to spend on new signings in summer.
Now, in addition to this rather meagre budget for the incoming manager, whomever it may be, the 'Daily Mail' report that they are also not looking to pay their new boss Arsene Wenger's current salary.
Wenger is paid £8.5million for his services, however according to the English outlet, Arsenal aren't too keen on paying their new man this much. This is worrying news for Arsenal fans as, if true, this will make it hard for the club to attract some of the big names that supporters have been demanding.
The same outlet reports that Luis Enrique, one of the top names on the candidate list, wants a deal worth £15m per year, as well as a handsome transfer budget.
This means that the Gunners may have to turn their sights to some of the less experienced men on the radar. Mikel Arteta and Patrick Vieira are both younger and less experienced managers than the likes of Enrique and Massimiliano Allegri, so would command lower fees. Liverpool assistant Zeljko Buvac, who has recently emerged as a frontrunner for the role, would also be a lower cost option.
