Arsenal lock in Brazilian star in the making, Marquinhos

Immersed in the battle for Champions League qualification, Arsenal's board are planning ahead for next season. They want to add quality to their squad in order to compete at the highest European level.

With other English clubs such as Manchester City already making signings ahead of next season, the Gunners are wanting to move quickly in terms of bringing new players to the Emirates.

Arsenal have fixed their sights on a player from across the pond. According to 'O Globo', the North London side have reached an agreement in principle to sign the promising Marquinhos for 3 million pounds.

Marquinhos is a 19 year old winger, who despite his age, has already appeared in 42 matches for Sao Paulo. After appearing in Brazil's under 17 national side, the player could soon be seeing himself breaking into the first team after his move to Arsenal materialises.
