Arsenal boss Unai Emery calls on Mesut Ozil to develop his game

Unai Emery has called on Mesut Ozil not to shy away from meeting his demands. Despite having been in the Premier League since 2013, Saturday Ozil’s first visit to St James’ Park.

Among the Arsenal head coach’s demands was he wants Ozil to contribute more in attack, as he awaits his first goal or assist of the season.

Ozil, who did not participate in the international break due to his retirement, will play away at St James' Park against Newcastle for the first time in his Premier League career on Saturday.

His manager, Unai Emery, wants Ozil to develop and take more responsibility in the team. 

"His process is his process,’ Emery in his pre-match press conference.

"I want to find with him the possibility to do the best, to make decisive passes, to do more near and in the box to score.

"He is feeling like I am feeling. He can improve, he can do more. In this process, we will work, we will help him, give him the possibility on the pitch to be together, to find his qualities for us.

"His process is his process," Emery said.
