Ancelotti made Small the youngest player to debut at Everton: 16 years and 176 days old!

The 24th of January 2021 is a date that Everton's Thierry Small will never forget. The left-back became the youngest ever to wear the blue and white jersey, at just 16 years and 176 days old.

Ancelotti handed him his debut in Everton's 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round, when all was already settled. The young teenager came on in the 85th minute in place of James Rodriguez. 

It was a gesture by the Italian coach to show his confidence in his youngster and prevent him from leaving the club, as he has been rumoured for weeks to be on the move in the current transfer window. 

Until now, this record was held by Jose Baxter, who made his debut at the age of 16 years and 191 days. According to 'AS', the English club have offered Small a contract for three seasons from the exact moment he turns 18, although the young British player has not yet signed it.

Something that could jeopardise his continuity at Everton, as according to the 'Daily Mail', he is on the agenda of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Juventus.
