Following a six-month loan deal, Wolves have opted to make Benik Afobe's stay more permanent as they complete the signing of the Bournemouth striker.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo international has completed a medical and has confirmed the £12.5million transfer ahead of next season.

Afobe joined the Cherries in a £10million transfer from Wolves back in January 2016, but is set to make his return to the Molineaux stadium after the club gained automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old struggled for a regular starting spot at Bournemouth in the 2016-17 season, making only 14 Premier League appearances in their campaign that year.

Afobe had featured only five times in the English top-tier the season before he secured a loan spell at Wolves. In his previous stint with the Premier League outfit, the striker scored 23 goals from 48 outings.
