Everton dominated possession in the first 45, but were unable to find a way through as neither side mustered a shot on target.
That changed after the break through as Walcott foun a way through just six minutes after the restart.
Yannick Bolasie swung a cross in from the right and whilst Walcott's first touch was poor, the ball richocheted back into his path off DeAndre Yedlin, with Walcott duly taking advantage as he cut inside and lifted the ball into the roof of the net beyond a helpless Martin Dubravka.
