The road to the World Cup is drawing to an end and the fight for a ticket is intensifying. Here we take a look at the teams that have mathematically qualified for the event that will take place in Qatar from 21th November to 18th December 2022.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup is approaching and we already know several of the teams that have mathematically qualified for the biggest event in global football. The qualifiers around the world are coming to a close and everyone wants a ticket to the finals.

The World Cup has 32 teams competing and 31 places are up for grabs in the qualifiers, with the host nation, in this case Qatar, having direct access. The tournament will begin on 21th November and end on 18th December 2022.

Of the 31 tickets available, 29 are won directly through the play-offs of each of the six confederations and two others are won in the play-offs. UEFA, representing the European continent, is sending the most teams to the World Cup, 13.

France, already qualified, will go to the event to defend the crown they won at Russia 2018. Deschamps' side, led by Griezmann and a very young Kylian Mbappe, put their second star on their chests after beating Croatia 4-2 in the final. The Welsh moved up the all-time list of teams with the most World Cup wins.

Qatar will host a World Cup for the first time in eight different venues ranging in capacity from 40,000 to 80,000 across the cities of Losail, Doha, Riyadh, Al Wakrah and Jor. The event has been surrounded by its controversial awarding and the 'Qatargate' case, where high-ranking FIFA officials have been involved.
