The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, who has been in a critical state after his accident causing him several brain injuries, is still in intensive care in a hospital in Sevilla. The French club, who were going to organise a gala for their foundation on Tuesday, have decided to cancel out of respect for the Spanish goalkeeper.

Two days after getting a serious head injury from an accident with a horse, Sergio Rico is still in a critical state. PSG's Spanish goalkeeper is currently hospitalised in the Hospital Virgen del Rocio's intesive care unit.

While the hospital were hoping him to make progress in the first 48 hours to give news, the latest we have heard is not that positive. The goalkeeper's state on Tuesday was "without significant changes" from the report on Monday, which said that he was stable but in a critical condition.

PSG, who had planned the traditional gala for their foundation on the 30th May, have decided to cancel the event following Nasser Al-Khelaifi's request "due to the health state of goalkeeper Sergio Rigo".

The Parisian side's president spoke on the topic in a statement to the press: "The current situation requires all our attention and forces us to abandon our traditional gala. The large Paris Saint-Germain family are deeply affected by the tragedy which is affecting Sergio Rico and his family".
