Denmark striker Nicklas Bendtner has been charged with violence after an incident in September with a Copenhagen taxi driver, the driver's lawyer said on Thursday.
The driver has been charged with throwing an unknown object towards Bendtner and his girlfriend without hitting them but he is protesting his innocence, the driver's lawyer Mette Grith Stage told Reuters.
Neither Bendtner nor his agent were able to comment on the incident.
Bendtner, 30, played for Premier League club Arsenal from 2005 to 2014 and has represented Denmark 81 times.
It is understood that his current side, Norwegian side Rosenborg, will disciplining the Danish striker.
They are currently considering whether to terminate his contract.
