Players who are missing or could miss WC due to injuries

Just a few days before the start of the World Cup in Qatar, there are many players who fear an injury that could cause them to miss the long-awaited event. Any injury could leave them out of the squad for a tournament that starts on 20th November and ends on 18th December.

Unfortunately, several players have suffered injuries that have them in doubt or confirmed as out for the World Cup. Portugal, Brazil, Spain and England are the big losers.

Diogo Jota (Liverpool and Portugal)

Calf muscle injury. Confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

Pedro Neto (Wolves and Portugal)

Ankle injury. Confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

N'Golo Kante (Chelsea and France)

Muscle injury. Confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

Reece James (Chelsea and England)

Knee injury. Confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

Pepe (Oporto and Portugal)

Injury to the internal ligament of the knee. Doubtful.

Kyle Walker (Manchester City and England)

Groin injury. He underwent surgery and, although it looked like he would not make it, he has a chance of recovering in time. Doubtful.

Anthony Martial (Manchester United and France)

Hamstring injury. Confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

Paulo Dybala (Roma and Argentina)

Injury to left leg. Doubtful.

Salman Al-Faraj (Al Hilal and Saudi Arabia)

Shoulder injury, pending tests. Doubtful.

Kepa Arrizabalaga (Chelsea and Spain)

Discomfort in the sole of the foot. Pending tests. Doubtful. 

Yuta Nakayama (Huddersfield Town and Japan)

Achilles tendon injury. Confirmed he will miss the World Cup.

Ankle injury. Absent pending official confirmation.
