OFFICIAL: Manchester City sign Matheus Nunes for a reported €60m

As expected, Manchester City have secured the services of Wolverhampton's Portuguese international midfielder Matheus Nunes. The Sky Blues announced the signing of the Wanderers midfielder on their official website. According to some British press, the deal could be worth around 60 million euros.

Manchester City announced on Friday morning the signing of Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton.

The Portuguese international (11 caps, 1 goal) has signed a five-year contract with the reigning English champions. The deal is worth an estimated €60 million.

"The opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola, one of the greatest coaches of all time, and alongside some of the best players in the world was something I couldn't turn down," said the player.

A player with an atypical career path, Matheus Nunes will continue his career in the Premier League, where he already proved his worth last season with Wolves (41 appearances, 1 goal).

The Rio de Janeiro native will team up  with his national team-mates Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva.
