Reports claim that Premier League front-runners Manchester City are set to join divisional rivals Tottenham and Manchester United in the race for Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

English publication 'The Sunday Mirror' reports that Pep Guardiola's side are keen on the versatile left-sided player, who has scored 14 goals so far this season.

Sessegnon has been one of the most highly-rated young players in English football for some time but he has taken to the Fulham first team like a duck to water of late.

The 17-year-old has started all 35 of Fulham's Championship games this season and has nine goals in his last 10 games in the English second tier.

Originally a left-back, the youngster has shown himself to be equally at home further forward and is thought to have caught City's eye as they look to stockpile some of the best young English talent.

Guardiola's men are in need of more domestic players to boost their homegrown quota and Sessegnon fits the bill, though they will face serious competition for his signature, with European heavyweights Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also linked with the England U19 international.

City have previous in tying up deals for talented homegrown players, having purchased England U21 international Jack Harrison from sister club New York City FC in January before loaning him to Middlesbrough.

With regard to Sessegnon, Fulham are believed to be aware of the interest and resigned to losing their top talent, regardless of whether they seal promotion or not.
