Man City favourites to sign 'the next Fernandinho'
Former Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu claims midfielder Fred is set to snub United for a move to rivals Man City.
Estimated to be worth £50 million, 24-year old Fred appears to be on his way to the Etihad.
Brought in at Shakhtar to replace Fernandinho, he now looks set to follow in the footsteps of his predecessor, emulating his £34 million move to City back in 2013.
This was all but confirmed by Lucescu who declared: "He will go to City like Fernandinho before him."
Guardiola and City fans will be hoping there's truth to Lucescu's claims as the side will no doubt be looking to further strengthen it's team at the end of, what so far, has been a terrific season for the club.
City are known to be keen on a defensive midfielder as they look to add depth to their squad and ensure that this season's success is not a one-off.
