LaLiga, led by president Javier Tebas, has taken little time in responding to the Spanish FA's proposal for distributing the European places if the league cannot continue. La Liga say the Federation do not have the power to do that.

LaLiga and the Spanish FA (RFEF) are fighting once again. The latter's proposal on how to distribute the European spots if the league cannot continue has not gone down well at all with the league. They say the RFEF do not have the power to do that.

Tebas referred to article 33.1 in Spanish sports law to claim that the Federation are committing a "clear invasion of competencies".

L Liga says that the Federation's assembly is just a "complementary federational organisation whose members are not elected democratically, but by the President himself."

They also refer to article 188 of the General Rulebook which reads "the RFEF can temporarily or permanently suspend the competitions and extend or reduce the registration periods for excepcional circumstances or because of force majeure, but when it comes to professional competitions, they must be done in accordance with LaLiga."

Professional competitions are La Liga and Segunda Division. This news will be music to the ears of Atletico Madrid, Getafe and Valencia who were furious with the RFEF's proposals.
