Foden asks City to let him leave in January
Phil Foden is not comfortable with his role at Manchester City. The fact he is hardly playing has made him ask the board to help him find a new club in the winter, 'The Mirror' reports.
Foden is without doubt, one of England's big talents. But he does not want to be constantly on the bench.
So far this season, Guardiola has given him just 11 minutes on the pitch. That has made Foden think of a move away from the Etihad Stadium.
According to 'The Mirror', Foden has asked Manchester City to let him leave in January. He is not thinking of spending more time watching opportunities go by.
On the odd occasion, he has sent a message out to Guardiola. "Maybe he’s taken a little holiday to play golf," he said after a great performance for England's under 21s. He was trying to get the Spanish coach's attention.
There are those who see Foden as David Silva's replacement. Some people are asking him to be patient and to have faith in Pep Guardiola, but the youngster is starting to get frustrated at the lack of opportunities.
