Olympique Lyon's top manager Jean-Michel Aulas gave an interview to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. The president gave his opinion on Juventus and spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he thinks is no longer as good as he was in other seasons.
The Champions League will be played in August. In Lyon, they are looking forward to the second leg of the round of 16 against Juventus. In the first leg, the French won 1-0.
Despite everything, Jean-Michel Aulas believes that the 'bianconeri' are favorites. "Juve will be the favourites, they will be in good shape," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
And he left a message for Cristiano Ronaldo. "They will be favorites ... although CR7 does not seem to be among the best right now," he said.
Lately, Cristiano has been harshly criticised. He lost the Coppa Italia final to Napoli and became the centre of attention for many.
Beyond Cristiano, Aulas wanted to make it clear that his Olympique Lyon could hurt Juve. He warned that they will fight to get into the quarterfinals: "We should get Depay back... and who knows, anything is possible in football," he said.
Due to the COVID-19, the next phases of the Champions League will be played as a single match. We will have to see which team gets the ticket.
