As soon as Manchester City found out the severity of Benjamin Mendy's injury, they put the wheels in motion to find a replacement in the next transfer window, and they have identified Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro.
Pep Guardiola was dealt a big blow with the injury to Mendy, after breaking the bank for the left-back in the summer. The long-term absence of the former Monaco defender opens the door for City to sign a replacement.
According to Italian publication 'SportMediaset', they have chosen Raphael Guerreiro, the Portuguese international who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old was a key part of Dortmund's defence last season, playing 35 times and scoring seven goals in all competitions.
This season, though, Guerreiro missed the start of this season due to injury and has not yet played for the German side, and City will be hoping to move for him in January, after he has recovered, as they try to fill the hole left by Mendy.
