Celta will play in the UEFA Youth League for the first time in their history, the highest European competition for youth teams, if the RFEF board of directors and the executive committee approve the proposal of the commission of territorial presidents, chaired by Luis Rubiales.

UEFA offer 5 spaces to Spanish football, 4 for clubs whose first teams have qualified for the Champions League, and another for the winner of the Copa de Campeones, which will not be able to take place this year.

A place that the commission of territorial presidents of the RFEF agreed to grant to the top team of the Division Honor juvenil with the best coefficient, that would be Celta Vigo, only team of all the groups that remain unbeaten after 25 matchdays.

The side led by Jorge Suma have 67 points (2.68 per match), a figure that is only beaten by Sevilla, champions of group 4. However, the Andalusian side managed 73 points playing 4 more matches, therefore their coefficient is 2.5 per match.
