Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has denied that Joe Hart has been badly treated at Manchester City and wrote in his column that 'situations like that happen all the time'.
Carragher, who writes for the 'Daily Mail', does not believe that the Man City 'keeper has been harshly treated.
The former Liverpool and England defender has compared the situation to that of Ronaldinho and Deco when Guardiola became manager of Barcelona.
Carragher wrote: "Yes, you can call it ruthless. But should you be surprised? What Guardiola has done isn't out of character. In his first job at Barcelona, he instantly got rid of Ronaldinho and Deco - key men in Frank Rijkaard's Champions League winners in 2006 - and looked to do the same to Samuel Eto'o".
Carragher also thinks that Hart could have done more to prepare himself for life under Guardiola.
"Was Hart studying videos of Neuer and Victor Valdes to see what Guardiola wants from a 'sweeper keeper' when the team plays such a high line? Was he going out on to the training ground, working on his left foot and his touch? There were extra things that he could have done to give himself a head start," he continued to write.
Until now, most people have defended Hart and said that the goalkeeper has been unfairly treated at City, but Carragher clearly thinks Guardiola is just doing what is best for the team.
