'Alves told me that he would trade his three Champions League trophies for my World Cup triumph'

The character of both players is quite different. 'Gigi', always very professional throughout the entirety of his career. And in contrast, Alves has experienced many controversial moments and said quite a few controversial comments during his time in the game. However this big difference is no barrier in the friendship between the two players. 

Buffon has insisted that their relationship is very good, even to the point that the Brazilian divulged a surprising confession to him once in the dressing room: "I was in the shower. He looked at me and told me that he was jealous over my victory in the World Cup."

"I reiterated that he would give me his three Champions League titles in exchange, that winning the World Cup makes an entire country happy, the whole population", the Italian goalkeeper told 'ESPN'.
