"I would love to stay another year, but I am not thinking much about that. The important thing at this moment in time is the team, not what the players ourselves are thinking," stated Fernando Llorente to 'Sky Sports'.
In February he spoke again about the possibility of returning to Athletic where he had many of his best years before undertaking a new adventure at Juventus. Then he went to Sevilla and then the Premier League... He also hinted at it in December.
Harry Kane's injury has allowed him to earn game time and importance. "I have learnt to experience it in other way. Every player wants to win titles, not only the eleven which start. If you think that you might not be important, you are in trouble," he commented.
Llorente praised Mauricio Pochettino, his coach. "He gives his players a lot of freedom to get the best out of them. He is not the typical coach who says you have to do this or that. He shows confidence in you and doesn't take you off if you make a mistake or do badly. He knows how to motivate us, get the best out of us. The way in which he manages the group, plans the training sessions... Even when I am not playing, I am happy about the great work he does. We have a great relationship," he highlighted.
