Real Madrid needed to win in the Champions League after losing to Shakhtar Donetsk and then drawing with Gladbach on matchday two. They finally won their third match after beating Inter.
Jorge Valdano praised Real Madrid. "The team were focussed, very different to what we saw in previous games. It's difficult to believe how much Madrid have changed," he told 'Movistar'.
"The link up play between Vinicius and Rodrygo got them out of a very bad situation. A draw for Real Madrid would've been tragic," Valdano continued.
Despite Inter's best efforts, Real Madrid took home the three points. "'Los Blancos' suffered in the second half, they were less fresh physically than in the first period. Inter were all over them, you could tell they needed the points," he concluded.
