Zidane defends Keylor Navas, Benzema

Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane rubbished on Tuesday criticism of goalkeeper Keylor Navas and striker Karim Benzema, two of the players that came under fire following the 2-1 defeat of Los Blancos at Sevilla on Sunday night. This was Real's first defeat following a 40-match undefeated run.

"He is fine, he is having a very good season," Zidane said at a press conference in Madrid when asked about the performances of Navas.

"One can always ask more from a goalkeeper or any player, but we went 40 games without losing and Keylor was there.

The Real Madrid coach also came to the defence of fellow Frenchman Karim Benzema.

"He is not allowed to lose possession at midfield?" Zidane asked rhetorically.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion but nobody can do every single thing perfectly during the entire game."
