The Baggies appeared to have found a much-wanted striker in West Ham's Diafra Sakho. However, the Senegalese forward failed a medical meaning West Brom called off the deal.
Tony Pulis' side have now turned their attention to Watford's Odion Ighalo who has been in high demand this summer. Watford are understood to have turned down big money offers from China for the striker, and the Nigerian will not come cheap if West Brom want to bring him to the Hawthorns.
Meanwhile, should West Brom bring in a new front man, this could pave the way for Saido Berahino to leave the club. The 23-year-old has been unhappy at the Hawthorns for the past year, as the Baggies did not let the player speak to Spurs last summer. Stoke and Crystal Palace are both possible destinations for the former England U-21 international who could leave for around £20m.
