Manchester City's winless run was extended to five games after Southampton gained a deserved point at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Pep Guardiola's side look a different team to the one that won their first 10 games of the season and the Catalan manager says that he will find solutions to the current problems.
"You can win 10 times and then you are not able to win five times," he told reporters after the match. "I have to discover the reason why and I am going to find that.
"We are together. We spoke about the situation we have. We try to go up"
Recent matches have seen a number of City players make costly individual errors. Aleksandar Kolarov scored an own goal in Guardiola's first defeat to Tottenham, Aguero and De Bruyne missed penalties in the 1-1 draw with Everton and City were also made to play Barcelona with 10 men when Claudio Bravo was comically sent off. In the Citizens' most recent match against Southampton, John Stones' wayward pass played in Southampton's Nathan Redmond who scored the Saints' goal in their 1-1 draw with City, but the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss refused to blame individuals for recent slip-ups.
"Mistakes are not the reason - not Kolarov's own goal at Spurs or missed penalties," he said. "There is something about how you react in situations.
"We had problems creating our build-up. There is a difference between the first and second half. Unfortunately, we could not [against Southampton]".
