In an interview with the 'Manchester Evening News', Giggs said that "there was no offer from Jose Mourinho. No offer."
Though the former wing wizard did insist that it was his decision to leave, stating that "As soon as Louis (Van Gaal) was going I had made my decision to go... I didn't really feel I could go on at the club in any other capacity apart from manager."
As his assistant, Mourinho decided to go with Rui Faria, who he has worked with at several of his previous clubs including, Porto, Chelsea, Inter and Real Madrid.
Giggs is now looking to go into management full time, though is finding it hard to get his first break. Despite expressing an interest in the Southampton job after Claude Puel's sacking, the Welshman was snubbed, whilst he was also turned down by Swansea earlier in the year.
