Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede is set to undergo a medical with Middlesbrough and is poised to become the first signing of Aitor Karanka's side during the January transfer window, 'Sky Sports' has reported.
The two clubs arre believed to have agreed a fee of £6m for the Benin international and Middlesbrough are in the process of finalising personal terms with the player.
The 28-year-old Gestede has so far this season scored four goals in 19 appearances with Aston Villa in the Championship. The forward had arrived at the Birmingham club from Blackburn Rovers in 2015, also for a fee of £6m.
