Valencia have announced that Pako Ayestaran will stay on as head coach of the club after signing a two-year deal.
The 53-year-old took charge of the team in March after Gary Neville was sacked following a disappointing domestic run.
The coach enjoyed three successive wins against Sevilla, Barcelona and Eibar which lifted the club away from the relegation zone, and despite the fact they lost the last four games of the season, he remained popular with supporters.
A club statement read: "Valencia wish to announce that Pako Ayestaran has been named coach of until June 30, 2018."
Ayestaran will hold a media conference at the Mestalla on Tuesday.
