'Atletico Madrid does not make money, it burns it'

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Chinese businessman stated that Atletico was 'burning him money, not generating money', as the club is not a money-making enterprise.

He also said  that investing in football is not profitable, unlike real estate or entertainment investments.

Wang Jianlin recognised however that through investing in Spanish football he gained access to other bussiness opportunities. 

Interestingly, Wanda Group is also a sponsor of FIFA.
