Stoke City appear to have won the race to sign Liverpool and Wales midfielder Joe Allen as the 26-year-old is set to have a medical with the Potters.
Stoke will pay £13 million for one of Wales' stars of Euro 2016 and are set to fend off competition from Allen's former club Swansea and also Europa League winners Sevilla.
Allen joined Liverpool from Swansea four years ago for a fee of £15 million and has played 132 games for the Reds.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is still said to admire Allen's qualities. However, the Welshman will be entering the final year of his contract at Anfield and Liverpool risk losing him for free at the end of the season if he does not leave now.
