Reports in Italy say that Inter Milan have held talks with former Villarreal manager Marcelino, who may bring in Gianfranco Zola as his Italian-speaking assistant.
Marcelino managed Villarreal or three years, winning promotion to La Liga with the 'Yellow Submarine' and then guiding the team to three top-six finishes in Spain's top-flight.
According to 'Sky in Italy', Marcelino will look to bring the Chelsea legend to Inter. The ex-Villarreal boss would ideally have an Italian-speaking assistant and Zola is thought to be his first choice.
Zola had a two-year spell at West Ham and then went to Watford where he led them to the Championship play-off final in 2012, but sacked the next season.
The 50-year-old also had brief spells in charge of Cagliari and Al-Arabi.
