Few people could have predicted what was about to happen in the first half of the match between Villarreal and Espanyol. What happened was that Yeremi Pino was on fire. He was the star of the show in the first half.
He began by doing that in the 14th minute, taking advantage of a good cross by Pervis Estupinan to rise above the tall Leandro Cabrera and headed in to make it 1-0.
Six minutes later, the talented winger netted again. The ball was loose in the six yard box after a corner, Capoue laid it off to Pino with his thigh and he beat Diego Lopez with a shot across Diego Lopez with his first touch.
There was a party atmosphere at the Estadio de la Ceramica, but there was still time for more. Right on half-time, Pino rounded off a fantastic first 45 minutes. Capoue shot, Diego Lopez made the save and Pino tapped in on the rebound to get his first hat-trick as a professional.
And the Spaniard was not done. Eight minutes into the second half, Danjuma played a pass into space, Pino went round Diego Lopez before tapping in to become the first Villarreal player to score four goals in a La Liga game.
