Our shortlist includes Marcelo, Di Stefano, Robinho, Ronaldo Nazario, Higuain and Redondo.
Marcelo came to Real at the age of 18 and was branded the 'new Roberto Carlos'. The Madrid powerhouse paid Fluminense about seven million euros for him and he did not dissapoint.
The late Alfredo Di Stefano was honourary president of the club until he died in 2014. His signing back in the day was a very complicated affair and Real fought off Barcelona to secure his services.
Robinho arrived at Real in 2005 from Santos and costed more than 30 million dollars. He went through a lot of ups and downs at Bernabeu and was almost out of the team under Fabio Capello, but then he became one of the club's top players. He left for Manchester City in 2008.
Ronaldo (the Brazilian) came to Madrid in 2002 from Inter, for a fee of 45 million euros. He was a part of the 'Galacticos' and won two Spanish leagues and one Supercup. He went to Milan in 2007.
Higuain was the subject of criticism from part of the Madrid fans, but others have very fond memories of him. He signed for Real in 2006 from River Plate for 12 million euros and left in 2013 for Napoli.
Redondo, who was considered by many one of the best midfielders in history, arrived at Real in 1994. He played 228 official matches, winning two league titles, one Supercup and two Champions League crowns.
