Takefusa Kubo has won over Real Madrid fans in pre-season. Amidst the chaos at Real Madrid this summer, the Japanese has brought fans some joy in the short periods of time he has played.
Kubo has shown bits of quality and the club have uploaded plenty of videos to social media of his skill.
His performances have made Real Madrid consider if the footballer could have a place as a secondary player in the first team, fundamentally after Marco Asensio's injury.
After what we have seen, it seems like he would be too good for Segunda B if Real sent him back to Castilla, the place he is expected to start his Real Madrid career at.
The big problem for Kubo is that he is a non-EU player. You can only have three and Militao and Vinicius are non-negotiable. Valverde has also won the right to occupy one of those three berths after playing well in various phases of last season.
'Marca' state that five clubs have shown interest in signing the Japanese on loan and even confirm that one of them is Ronaldo's Valladolid.
There is the option of Kubo starting at Castilla and then moving up during the season to the first team squad. Something similar to what happened with Vinicius in the 2018-19 season, but only once Valverde gets Spanish nationality.
Real Madrid are rubbing their hands with glee that after just a couple of games, Kubo has caught the eyes of money in European football. His popularity in Japan is undisputable so he is also a great marketing tool.
As well as knowing how to manage the player in this aspect, Real Madrid will also have to monitor his growth on the field of play. And therefore, before anything else, they will have to decide where the ex-La Masia man plays in the 2019-20 season. He is certainly not short of options.
