Italy got into the semi-finals of the Euros after beating Belgium 1-2 in a match which saw Ciro Immobile involved in Barella's goal.
The Lazio striker, who did not score in the game, was down on the ground and seemed injured just before the 0-1 goal, but he immediately got up to celebrate like crazy once Barella scored.
The gesture did not go down well with Alan Shearer, who slammed the Italian after seeing the images while he was commenting for the 'BBC'.
"Immobile? I don’t even want to laugh at that because that is pathetic. You can see him have a look at the referee before he even goes down. It’s pathetically embarrassing, that’s what it is!," Shearer said of the Italian.
Immobile is unlikely to be bothered but the criticism though and Italy face Spain in the first semi-final of the Euros at Wembley.
