What could Mbappe's sensational World Cup mean for Neymar's future?

With the departure of their current attacking focal point, Cristiano Ronaldo, seemingly imminent, the European champions are hoping that they will swiftly be able to find a replacement for the Portuguese.
Neymar only joined the Paris-based team last season for a world-record fee, and the club's bosses are adamant that they will keep their hands on their prize asset for next season.
However, with team-mate Kylian Mbappe having an excellent run in the French national team during the World Cup in Russia, the Madridistas are hoping that PSG will be more open to letting the Brazilian join their ranks.
Mbappe is only 19 years old, but scored two goals in France's defeat of Argentina in the last-16 of the World Cup and put in a bright performance in their next match to suggest that he is well and truly a star in the making.
In fact, a poll by 'Diario AS' suggested that 89% of Real Madrid fans would rather sign the young Frenchman than the ex-Barcelona winger.
Regardless, it seems as though Real Madrid's hierarchy would prefer a move for the Brazilian and could opt to wait a year until a release clause is activated in his contract of €222 milllion, the same fee that enticed him away from the Camp Nou in 2017.
