Wenger and Klopp to battle it out for Stoke keeper

It is no secret that both clubs are in the market for a new goalkeeper, although for different reasons.
Arsenal are looking for the perfect replacement for 35-year-old Petr Cech, who still impressed despite the 'Gunners' losing the North London derby 1-0 to Tottenham on Saturday, while Liverpool's frailties between the sticks have been well documented with both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius failing to deliver so far at Anfield.
However, going by reports in the English media on Sunday, it looks like the Premier League rivals will battle it out for the same target: England international shotstopper Butland who currently plays for Stoke.
The 24-year-old has spoken in the past about his ambition to play at the highest level and a move to either Arsenal or Liverpool would certainly be a step in the right direction compared to his current club who are languishing in the Premier League relegation zone.
It would also help Butland cement his status as England's No. 1 in which he faces stiff competition from Everton's Jordan Pickford and West Ham's Joe Hart. The only concern for both managers is his unfortunate injury track record, although both will be hoping the young keeper can thrive in their medical and training systems.
Either way, the English newspaper also claimed that it would require at least £40m to tempt Stoke into selling one of their star assests as there is a premium in the Premier League for homegrown players. It will be quite a fight to secure his signature.
