'We need Neymar to stay for the project at PSG'

The dust is still settling from the Parisian club's dramatic exit at the hands of Real Madrid on Tuesday, in which they lost 2-1 at the Parc des Princes to be eliminated from the Champions League Round of 16 by a humiliating 5-2 aggregate margin.
As a result, Neymar's future looks increasingly precarious given the heavy speculation of a move to the Bernabeu before the European match-up. Although his recovery from a foot injury is his main priority at the moment.
In the midst of the rumours, his teammate and compatriot Marquinhos has come out to urge the 26-year-old not to turn his back on the Ligue 1 club.
Speaking after the defeat, the defender pleaded: "I asked him to stay and let things settle down. He is an important player for us. We really need him to have confidence in our project, our players and our coaches."
Despite the comments, Neymar took to social media after the defeat to offer support to his disappointed teammates, congratulating their effort in Paris and expressing his dispair at not being able to help them following a fractured metatarsal against Marseille ten days ago.
However, it doesn't seem like the speculation of a move to Madrid will dispel anytime soon and fans will have to wait until summer to see if there is any truth in them.
