The 18-year-old is a product of the club's academy and notched his first appearance for Stevenage this season, in an EFL Trophy match against Milton Keynes Dons.
However, the youngster did not play on Saturday in the 1-0 win over Newport amid ongoing transfer discussions. Although the negotiation outcomes are reportedly positive, there has been no transfer fee agreed yet.
The defender is the son of former Stevenage goalkeeper Richard Wilmot, who appeared over 150 times for the club. The younger Wilmot has so far played in 10 outings in the Sky Bet League Two this season.
Wilmot had previously been linked with moves to Arsenal and Tottenham, who had scouted the young player and has represented England at U19 international level.
