One cannot talk about 90s football without mentioning the name of David Ginola. The former PSG and Premier League star spoke about the happenings of French football at the 'London Football Awards'.
Contrary to expectations, he criticised Kylian Mbappe, as he believes he is inconsistent in his performances: "He has everything because he is an impressive player, the goal he scored against Lyon is incredible, there are only a handful of players who can do something like that, but his unfinished business is that he must be more consistent."
Ginola continued: "He could do that five or six times a game and he doesn't, so it can be frustrating to watch him play because he's capable of so much more. He's often just walking around on the sidelines."
The former player acknowledged that Mbappé's potential is enormous, but said he did not know if he would be able to manage it in the future: "He is a young player and people expect a lot from him because he has a lot of talent. If Pele has said he will be his successor, he will have a lot of weight on his shoulders at just 20 years of age. He has a lot of things ahead of him, but it remains to be seen whether he is mentally prepared to face them."
In conclusion, David Giunola also had words of criticism for Paul Pogba. "He's still a key player but only when he's in a good position and fully fit. Will he be in June?"
