Neymar's injury woes have resulted in a place in the Brazil team opening up for Vinicus Jr, who has been in fine form this season. The youngster is set to be called up to the squad to play Panama and the Czech Republic on March 23 and 26. Although Brazil plan not to rush Vinicius' progress, their assistant manager Sylvinho has already watched the winger live and is set to be present at another of his games before the squad is announced on February 27.
Real Madrid's director Emilio Butragueno has recently praised Vinicius, saying that "Every time he looks more at home. Every game he links up better with his team-mates. We are very content with him and he's only 18."
Neymar has been linked with Los Blancos but many at the club are starting to think the move would be unnecessary, such has been Vinicius' form. The winger's impressive displays have limited game-time for other big names at the club, with Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio among those missing out.
