With the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland set to host the 2028 Euros, Tyrone Mings is expected to assume a role on the board of directors during the tournament, reports 'The Athletic'.
According to the same source, the Football Association (FA) wanted to include an active player on the board of directors to help with preparations for the major tournament.
The Aston Villa defender will be tasked with providing opinions on the tournament from a player standpoint, with the Birmingham club's Villa Park also set to be among the venues hosting the Euros.
It is understood that Mings' appointment will be made official soon. The 32-year-old made three appearances in England's run to the final in Euro 2020, losing out to Italy on penalties at Wembley.
