Villarreal faced Man Utd in the Europa League final on Wednesday night in Gdansk.
The Yellow Submarine took the lead after 29 minutes when Dani Parejo's free-kick was tapped in by Gerard Moreno. Man Utd came back fighting in the second half and should have had a penalty when Mason Greenwood was fouled by Alfonso Pedraza, but the referee and VAR said no. Edinson Cavani levelled in the 55th minute after he hit home a loose ball in the box. The game then went into extra-time and then penalties. All 11 Villarreal players scored as did Man Utd's first 10, but then keeper David de Gea saw his spot kick saved by Geronimo Rulli to give Villarreal an 11-10 win.
